About us
The Interdepartmental Research Centre for Geopolitical Studies and Territorial Analysis is based at Sapienza University of Rome. It specialises in the analysis of geopolitical risks and provides strategic support to companies and institutions operating in complex international contexts.
The Centre’s activities are aimed at analysing and anticipating trends, identifying competitive advantages, and mitigating systemic risks related to political instability, conflicts, regulatory crises, economic sanctions, hybrid threats, and geopolitical shocks.
Its mission is to transform scientific knowledge into operational tools through geopolitical analysis and sectoral studies, supporting both public and private actors operating in Italy and abroad.
In an increasingly unstable global landscape marked by systemic geopolitical risks, strategic decisions must rely on reliable and integrated analysis.
The Centre applies its expertise to both the international and national (Italian and European) contexts, with a particular focus on the impact of geopolitical dynamics on strategic and productive sectors. This also addresses the needs of stakeholders operating mainly in the domestic market.
The added value of the Research Centre lies in its ability to combine scientific rigour, analytical independence, and a strong focus on operational needs. It adopts academic tools in service of strategic and industrial decision-making.
Grounded in a rigorous academic method, the Centre integrates:
- Qualitative analysis, based on political, diplomatic, economic, and historical sources;
- Quantitative models, built on official data, primary sources, and proxy indicators;
- Strategic elaboration, aimed at supporting decision-making in geopolitical and economic contexts.
